Rion Microys is serious about fun.  She thinks that we have given up too many aspects of play that are essential elements of living.  She feels that our culture has become very serious and that it no longer expresses the deep, innate silliness that still lives, forgotten or ignored, deep inside each one of us.

Digging through her career as an archaeologist Rion began to question how she was contributing to the joy of life (her own or anyone else’s for that matter).  In 1994 she changed course and began the courageous and absurd journey that leads to paying the rent by sculpting attitudinal animals doing ridiculous things in a colourful world that any one of us would love to jump into.

Rion still has to work hard, and gets dirty doing it, but she is jolly and content knowing that the work she creates brings all of us more sky blue silliness, yellow humour, purple absurdity, pink smiles, green wit and crimson charm than you can shake a gopher at.
